I've been watching old episodes of The Practice on Hulu (currently into the second season) and it was creeping me out every time Dylan McDermott kisses someone and last night I figured out it was because he reminds me a lot of Dave and it is weird seeing a pseudo-Dave with someone else. Brown hair, blue eyes, chiseled face...Dave doesn't look like a movie star but I can definitely see a resemblance.

Last night I was making buckeyes for Ben's birthday party (not eating any of the peanut butter, but working it with my hands) and after about half an hour both my throat and hands got that weird tingly allergic reaction feeling D:. It's still there to a small degree this morning. That's the first time I've ever had that happen without eating any (and even eating it I can usually have one slice of peanut butter toast without feeling any effects). I only formed about half the peanut butter balls and will have to try and get Dave to do the rest since it isn't fully gone and I don't want to make it worse.

08:31 pm - Ben knows opposites
We were serving Ben the first slice of quiche and Ben was being contrary. Literally.

I said that he needed to let it cool down
"NO! not cool down! cool UP!"
so Dave said it needed to cool off...
"NO! not cool off! cool ON!"

08:53 pm - + and -
+ we got to go to the birthday party this morning that I didn't think we would be going to

- we did not go to Dave's co-worker's house for a cookout because his wife is having a threatened miscarriage :(

+ we bought purple asparagus and blue eggs at the farmer's market

- Ben fought his nap until 3:30 and Tim has been fussy this evening

+ we checked out the sprayground closest to our house

- we felt a bit conspicuous there as we tripled the number of white people (out of about 25 kids ours were the only white ones)

+ we grilled our asparagus and some sausages outside for dinner and now that dinner is over Dave is roasting more marshmallows :D

04:01 pm - DUDE!
We have sittage! Timothy was playing at my feet while I surfed the internet...rolling from back to front and front to back, pushing up on his hands and knees, trying to eat cords, nothing new, and then I went into the kitchen and came back and he was sitting up!!!!!! He maneuvered from hands and knees to that three point sit they do where they are leaning forward on their hands. I am so stoked!

09:09 am - From Aliyna
If I am misremembering any of this and you can help edit, I'd appreciate it :).

1983-1984 I think that we lived in Weirhoff West Germany when I was born--My dad was in the army. I think there may have been a third city in Germany that we lived in (possibly Vogelweh?), but I don't remember. I just know that we lived in two different towns when Jonathan and I were born but we were both born at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

1985-1987 We lived in Kaiserslautern West Germany. Jonathan was born when we lived here. Both my parents were baptized while going to the K town church of Christ, though not in the same year.

1987-1988 My dad got out of the military we moved back to the states. We lived in East Hampton CT a block away from my mom's mom, in a house that belonged to my mom's grandma who was in a nursing home. My dad was studying for his master's degree.

1988-1990 My dad got his first non-military job since college and we moved to upstate New York. Sidney was a little village between Binghamton and Oneonta. I went to Kindergarten and 1st grade and started second here. This is the first house I really remember and it is where I changed my name. Jonathan doesn't remember this house but the one he is in the process of buying is the exact.same.layout so it must have imprinted in his subconscious. This was the first home my parent's owned.

1990-1997 My dad switched jobs and we moved out to Gilbert AZ. My dad was working in Chandler but they bought a house in Gilbert because of the good schools. I went there from 3-8th grade. This is where the majority of my 'growing up' memories were formed. Curtis was born here, though we moved 2 months later

1997-2001 My dad switched jobs again and we moved to Centerville OH. At that time he was working in Miamisburg at the mound, IIRC. Less than a year after we moved there the place where he worked went out of business and he was out of work for 9 months. Ohio is where I lived for all of high school (9-12)

2001-2002 Moved to Edmond OK to go to Oklahoma Christian University (OC). Lived in room 309 (our upstairs neighbors lived in 409 and joked about how NOT clean it was, or I wouldn't remember that number) with my first ever roommate Laura. She and I became great friends, though it took a few months of living together to get there. Before it was all said and done she had signed up for a semester abroad with the Vienna Studies trip so I had to find a new roommate for the first semester of Sophomore year. Looking on OC's website it seems that our door room was 11'x18.5'.

Summer 2002 lived at home with my parents and worked at Arby's.

Fall 2002 I moved into C dorm with Jenni (Laura and I had lived in D) which was part of the same building, just meant less walking. I don't know our room number, but Jen might since she was in that same room for 2 years, through 5 roommates. She was tough to be roommates with because of her habits but we remained friends. We were downstairs close to the entrance.

Spring 2003 Second semester Sophomore year Laura was back from Europe and we both had enough credits to move out of the dorms and into the apartments. We ended up in phase II which overflow for the single women so many of the apartments in that phase were married couples. I think we were in 212. This is the semester that my sister and Bradley got married. They moved into phase II right after the end of the semester (my sister had been living in phase IV and Bradley had been living at UCO). This was my first apartment and it was furnished, but we got to buy dishes and book cases and all that good stuff :).

Summer 2003 Home again working at Arby's.

Fall 2003 Laura and I wanted to live together again in the apartments and we preferred the singles overflow because it was closer to campus and the families tended to care more about keeping the volume level down. The person who figured out who went where tried to keep us in phase II so that I could be closer to my sister and we ended up in a 2 bedroom/4 student apartment with two girls that we didn't know. It didn't go well. We stuck it out for the semester but gratefully switched at Christmas break.

Spring 2004 I am having trouble remembering where we lived this semester...any help Laura? I remember Dave and David lived next to the firewall in phase I and Jess and Bradley had had Ruth and were over in the frontside of phase II. I know we were parked by the laundry room in phase II when Dave first proposed so I suspect we were in there somewhere...did we move back upstairs?

Summer 2004 We were overflow so we didn't get to keep our apartment even though we decided to stay in OK for the summer. Dave and Laura went on bandtrip for the first week or two and I barely ate. I eventually got a job at Bennigan's, where Amanda VonRader worked. They were doing remodeling so we were in phase IV for part of the summer and then in phase I for the second part, IIRC.

Fall 2004-Spring 2005. I think this is where Laura put her foot down. They wanted to move us again at the end of the summer because phase I was for married couples and single guys, not single girls. They were building phase V and were remodeling some of the dorms so they were squishing 3 people per one bedroom apartment and 5 people per two bedroom apartment and lowering the requirements for moving off campus by a couple credits. Anyway Laura told them that she had already moved too many times and she didn't care a whit about guys living 2 doors down and they let us stay in the same apartment. I am pretty sure we stayed here until I got married. I think our apartment number was 111.

Summer 2005 Dave and I got married right after the semester ended and we moved into phase II, upstairs close to where Laura and I had first lived. This was my first unfurnished apartment, though Dave and Nick had moved off campus the fall before into a one bedroom unfurnished, so Dave had some stuff. Our futon came from Bradley and Jess that they had gotten from the couple moving out of their old apartment when they moved in and they gave it to Dave to use as a bed in his bachelor pad when they got the Pedford's old couch. My parent's brought the bed I had had from the time we lived in CT till half way through high school when I got a new bedroom set and my old bed went in the garage (and I asked if I could have it whenever I moved out). Our table had been the Filliman's that they had gotten from an uncle when they moved to their OC apartment. It traveled to Dave and Nick's apartment and then back to OC after we got married. It had a glass top which was accidentally broken while we were moving in. We just didn't have a table top for a couple months and then we bought our granite topped table--the first big furniture we bought together, though not the smartest move buying a granite topped table when you live on the second floor :-p. This was the first apartment that I had to pay monthly rent on (instead of just tuition or for the whole summer)

2006-2007 We finished school in Dec '05 and had to be out of the campus apartment by the end of the year, but we didn't know until Dec how much Dave would be making with Hetronic so we were looking at apartments and rental houses with no clue as to our budget. We also wanted to be close to where Hetronic would be building their new building, but they hadn't made an announcement yet. We ended up in a 2 bedroom/2 bath at Country Oaks at May and 150th, which was well within our eventual budget and right across the street from the office park that they eventually built in. We lived here when Ben was born, but we had him at heavensent births, not at our apartment.

2007-2009. Just before Ben's first birthday we bought our first house, just a couple miles from where our apartment was. We now live at Western and Memorial. Our living room here has just about the same square footage as the first apartment that we shared together (the OC 1 bedrooms in phases I and II were about 400sqf). We would have had Tim here if we hadn't needed the c-section. We don't plan on living here forever--we want to move back east to be closer to family within the next few years.

Got the news from the car place...would be a couple thousand dollars to repair the Taurus, which is more than it is really worth. So....it looks like no car for a while. Kind of a sucky way to start the week.

Crazy weekend...cleaned the house a bit on Friday and had Jonathan and Sasha over and Dave made pizza and watermelon sorbet. They oohed and aahed over Tim and told us about the house they put an offer in on (closing next month). Got up early Saturday and drove up to Chouteau to Dave's Dad's cousin's house and saw some family from that side (and Grandma Paden). Church-nap-church on Sunday. Jonathan and Sasha back over here this morning before he headed back to St. Louis and then we went to a cookout to see some friends from school who were in for the weekend. The boys were put in bed when we got home but I can hear that Ben still isn't asleep, but we're about to watch a James Bond movie anyway :-p.

Happy Memorial Day!

We got our co-op confirmation e-mail today so that's good. I made sweet potato pinapple topping with some of the left over pineapple bits from the pineapple sorbet that Dave made.

Also uploaded some videos...one from Dave's 'birthday' (the Saturday after his birthday when I made a cake) and two from our camping trip on our anniversary/Mother's Day weekend. I might upload some pictures as well, but it's about time to head to evening service...there's a going away party for two couples we know afterward. Usually if our boys are still napping at this time (like they are today) then we don't go to evening service, but today we'll wake them up :-p.

We need to go to the farmer's market tomorrow...peanut butter and eggs at the least. Possibly also some meat as we've had a lot of meatless dinners this week ...rice & beans, cous cous & veggies, and loaded baked potatoes this week (as well as the organic pastured hamburger patties that we bought at the beginning of the month. Dave LOVED them).

Has anyone on here made their own root beer? We've got all the supplies but we've lost the instructions. I'm sure I can find some online but first hand experience would be better.
